Chatpata (chatpata.pages.dev) is operated by Udbhav Naryani, an individual based in India (“we”). Contact: dev@udbhav.uk.

Your chat

• When you choose a WhatsApp export, the file is opened and analysed inside your browser (a Web Worker). Its contents are not sent over the internet.
• Your latest story’s numbers — counts, top words and emojis, the first message and the names in the chat — are saved in your browser’s local storage so a refresh doesn’t lose it. Tap Delete on the story, or clear your browser data, to remove it. We cannot see or access it.
• To tie a purchase to one chat, your browser computes an anonymous fingerprint: a one-way hash of the chat’s participant names and the time of its first message. Only this hash is sent to us when you buy. It cannot be turned back into names or messages.

Payments

Payments are processed by Razorpay Software Pvt. Ltd. Your UPI, card or bank details go directly to Razorpay and are handled under Razorpay’s privacy policy. We store the Razorpay order and payment IDs, the amount, the product and the time, so purchases can be verified, restored and refunded. Razorpay may share your email or phone number with us as part of the payment record; we use it only for support and refunds.

Analytics

We count anonymous events (for example “story opened” or “checkout started”) as a per-day total. No cookies, no device IDs, no IP addresses, no third-party analytics or ad trackers. Our host, Cloudflare, processes standard request data (such as IP address) to deliver and protect the site.

Your rights

You can ask us what payment data we hold about you, and ask for it to be corrected or deleted (subject to what tax and payment law requires us to keep), by emailing dev@udbhav.uk. Deleting your data is always free. Chatpata is not intended for children under 13.

If this policy changes, we will update the date above. Material changes will be highlighted on the home page.
